My Grandmother's Meatballs

Ingredients :

  • 200g Ground pork
  • 300g Ground beef
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice of crustless bread
  • 1 small cup of milk
  • 1 tbsp. tablespoons Oil
  • 2 tbsp. Starch
  • 1 tbsp. Flour
  • 20cl Chicken broth
  • 10cl Dark beer
  • Sprigs of parsley (a little)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Calories = Medium

Preparation Method 

Peel and mince the onion and garlic. Rinse and strip the parsley before chopping it (keep a few leaves for decoration). Soak the bread in the milk.

Place the pork and beef in a bowl. Add the whole egg, minced onion and garlic, chopped parsley and bread. Season with salt and pepper and mix well then place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Take the bowl out of the fridge then flour your hands and shape into meatballs. Heat the oil in a sauté pan and brown the meatballs on all sides over medium heat. Pour in the beer and broth then simmer gently for 20 minutes.

Place the meatballs in the serving dish. Dissolve the starch in a little cold water, pour everything into the sauté pan and mix over medium heat until the sauce thickens. Coat the meatballs with the sauce, garnish with the remaining parsley and serve.
