How to prepare the Moroccan  Chicken Tagine



Today I offer you a good Moroccan recipe. Tagine with carrots, peas, and potatoes. Chicken tagine with carrots and candied lemon. It's easy to make, quick, and delicious!

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 chicken cut into pieces
  • 1 onion
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 handful of olives
  • 1 chicken broth
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp table oil
  • 1/2 candied lemon
  • 1 glass of hot water
  • Chopped parsley and coriander
  • Salt

Preparation method :

Mix all the spices (saffron, ginger, pepper and salt), the oils and the crumbled chicken broth in a bowl then cover the chicken pieces with this mixture.

In a tagine, arrange the chopped onion and the chicken pieces.

Add hot water to the bowl to recover the spices stuck to the edges, mix and pour everything into the tagine.

Peel the carrots, cut them into strips, remove the core and place them in the tagine.

To go faster, you can pre-cook them slightly in water before putting them on.

Cover and simmer for about an hour.

Then add the candied lemon cut into strips, the olives, the parsley and the chopped coriander.

Cover again for 5 minutes then serve your chicken tagine.
